Introduction to geometry

Interesting video to introduce or remember the theme of flat geometry and polygons. With it, the students will have fun and further strengthen the concepts that we can learn with the video. In addition, it can be seen in both Spanish and English, which allows cross-language proficiency in Spanish and English.

Figuras geométricas con plastilina y palillos

Para hacer actividades de este estilo solo necesitamos plastilina, palillos y tarjetas imprimibles donde los alumnos puedan visualizar figuras geométricas que puedan imitar. La actividad principal que desarrollamos con estos materiales es formar figuras geométricas con las que podemos explicar a los alumnos que cada bolita de plastilina es un vértice y cada palillo es un lado. Los palillos también pueden ser lápices o cualquier objeto lineal que pueda representar un lado recto. Es importante que comencemos con figuras en 2D para los alumnos de cursos más bajos y después ir introduciendo las figuras en 3D para los alumnos de cursos más avanzados. También podemos dejar al alumno que forme figuras a raíz de su imaginación, o que incluso forme estructuras uniendo distintas formas geométricas.

Ángulos y grados en las puertas de las aulas

Otra tarea interesante es llevar a cabo un pequeño proyecto en el que cada grupo de alumnos (con permiso de la dirección del centro) pinte sobre el suelo los diferentes ángulos y sus grados que se pueden formar según el tamaño de la apertura de la puerta de clase. Con esta sencilla forma los alumnos pueden realizar y visualizar diariamente los cálculos y posiciones que quieran, y además es algo realizado por ellos mismos, por lo que el aprendizaje se vuelve más significativo aún si cabe.
